Old Courts Veterinary Centre was originally known locally as Birtwhistle, Barr & Wilson Veterinary Surgeons during the 1970’s through to the 80’s. The practice operated from two premises, the surgery here in Brigg and Ashby Road in Scunthorpe. The current practice at Old Courts Road was established in 2000 with a large extension following in 2004, creating the excellent facilities that are now available

In November 2015, Daphne Chapleo retired and sold Old Courts Veterinary Centre to Dr Mark Goodlad BVM&S MRCVS and his partner Katherine.

Moving from the North West, Mark gained much of his experience within a tier 3 Veterinary Hospital in Liverpool; experience that has allowed Old Courts to advance and change the client/patient experience.

In addition to the centre in Brigg, Old Courts also has two other branches; Barton-upon-Humber and Winterton.

All three sites provide consultation based veterinary care, with operations and in-patient care provided exclusively from the Brigg site. Brigg and Barton operate an appointment system, with Winterton offering an open surgery on Mondays and Fridays (except for Bank Holidays)

We have the ability to perform full clinical assessments, diagnostic tests and a comprehensive range of treatments at all of our branches.

If further investigation or treatments is required, patients are cared for at our main Veterinary Centre in Brigg. Animals from Barton are transported, where appropriate, to the main centre free of charge by the Veterinary Surgeon, allowing our clients to benefit from the diverse facilities available in Brigg. The level of care given to our patients staying overnight is decided on a case-by-case basis.
